Kate Robberson is a multidisciplinary artist, musician, composer, and creative director currently living and working between Austin and Mexico City. Her practice moves between sound, performance, ceramics, painting, graphic design, and the making of objects, images, and spaces.
For more than a decade, music and collaboration formed the center of her creative life. She is a founding member of Ley Line and co-founder of Her Mana, projects through which she has explored songwriting, performance, collective creation, and the ways art can become a space for gathering and connection.
In recent years, her practice has expanded into a broader exploration of material, ritual, and everyday life. She is interested in the places where art and living become difficult to separate; how we gather, prepare food, drink tea, listen, make things with our hands, tend to one another, and create meaning through repetition.
Alongside her personal practice, Kate works across creative direction, graphic design, image-making, and world-building for artists, spaces, and brands. Rather than treating these as separate disciplines, she approaches them as extensions of the same impulse: creating a language around an idea and allowing that language to become a world.
Across mediums, her work returns to questions of attention and transformation: a room as light moves through it, a body carrying memory, clay responding to touch, a song changing through repetition, a table becoming a place of gathering. Her work is an ongoing practice of noticing; an attempt to make visible, audible, and tangible the subtle experiences that shape a life.
